Chasing Rainbows – Tuesdays with Tweed by Steve Tweed

Hi, Folks!

Instead of telling a story this week, I wanted to do something a little different.

I don’t think there is anyone on Earth who does not enjoy a rainbow.

Having taken up photography several years ago, it made me slow down and take notice of things.

One thing I picked up on was one of the ways that rainbows form and it has proven to be a winner.

My best run of luck was capturing rainbows 3 days in a row!
I would like for y’all to be able to spot them, so I thought that I would share with you folks just to see how an experiment would work.

I’m not going to get into specific angles and science; my best subject in school was laying out.

The biggest thing required is a decent sense of direction.
With that being said, here is how to catch a rainbow:
In late afternoon, all the way up until sunset, look for rainstorms moving to the East or Northeast.

Once the rain passes, if the sun shines on the backside of the shower, a rainbow will form.
It’s that simple.

So, if you are out & about and get caught in a rain shower, look for the light to the west, head to it and once you get out of the rain, look back to the east.

Let me know if this works for you.

Y’all have a great week!
